Independent Solar Quotation Review — a person reads your quotation
This is a separate service provided by PowerGuardian, where a person reads your actual quotation. Payment, the review itself and any support are handled by PowerGuardian. Enquiries here are answered within 24 hours.
How it differs from QuoteGuardian’s own services
- Free quotation check — instant, automated, in your browser. Start the free check.
- Buyer’s Report, £39 — the same automated result written up as a PDF and sent to you. No person reads the quotation. Read the pre-contract information. The £125 human review is not part of this automated report.
- Independent Solar Quotation Review, £125 — PowerGuardian’s human review of one UK residential solar or solar-and-battery quotation. See the service on PowerGuardian.
What the reviewer checks
It covers one UK residential solar or solar-and-battery quotation. The reviewer checks:
- What is included, excluded, missing or unclear.
- The quoted price, itemisation and arithmetic, with relevant pricing context where reliable evidence is available.
- The panel, inverter and battery specifications stated in the document.
- Whether generation, savings, export-income and payback claims are internally consistent, and which assumptions need supporting evidence.
- The warranties, payment terms and consumer protections described.
- Installer statements that need clarification or independent confirmation.
- Questions you should ask before signing.
What you receive
A personalised written report in your private PowerGuardian account. Findings are labelled “Information”, “Check required”, “Important concern” or “Unable to assess”. The report explains the issues and gives prioritised questions to put to the installer. The price includes one follow-up question by email.
Delivery is within 48 hours after both successful payment and receipt of a complete, readable, in-scope quotation with its details confirmed.
What it is not
This is a document and evidence review. It does not include a property visit, technical design approval, installer certification, structural assessment or a guarantee of savings, generation or payback. It does not give the quotation a score or tell you definitively to accept or reject it.
PowerGuardian and Peter Flynn do not claim to be a solar engineer, MCS installer, surveyor, financial adviser or technical certifier. Where the evidence is insufficient, the report says so.
Turnaround and capacity
Enquiries are answered within 24 hours. Only five human reviews are accepted each week. If the current week is full, we will say so in our reply and offer the next available slot. Nothing is charged until you have accepted a confirmed slot.
