About QuoteGuardian

A stronger position before you sign.

QuoteGuardian helps UK households examine important quotations, challenge unclear promises and turn complicated evidence into practical questions and next steps.

Our purpose

“Give the householder a calm, independent second opinion before pressure, jargon or optimism becomes an expensive commitment.”

Why it exists

Householders are expected to make expert decisions without expert information.

Solar panels, batteries, heat pumps, boilers, energy tariffs and major home repairs can involve thousands of pounds. Yet quotations often mix technical specifications, assumptions, sales claims, warranties and exclusions in ways that are difficult to compare.

QuoteGuardian is being built to close that information gap. It does not sell installations or reward a particular installer. Its job is to help the user understand what has been stated, what is missing, what looks inconsistent and what should be verified before proceeding.

How we work

Built around four practical principles.

  1. 01

    Start with the household

A quotation only makes sense when assessed against the property, energy use, routine and intended outcome.

  2. 02

    Show the reasoning

Scores and warnings should be understandable. QuoteGuardian explains the evidence and assumptions behind a result.

  3. 03

    Turn findings into action

A useful assessment should produce written questions, comparison points and a clear before-signing checklist.

  4. 04

    Keep the user in control

Automated guidance supports judgement; it does not replace verification, professional advice or personal responsibility.

The service today

What QuoteGuardian can—and cannot—do.

The current beta builds a household profile, records quotation details, runs transparent screening rules and creates a personalised action pack. It is designed to expose uncertainty rather than hide it.

  • Identify missing and unclear quotation information
  • Screen financial claims for internal consistency
  • Highlight warranty, payment and protection questions
  • Prepare a ready-to-send installer email
  • It does not certify an installer, survey a property or guarantee savings
