- Manufacturer and exact model
- Usable—not merely nominal—capacity
- Continuous and peak charge/discharge power
- Operating temperature and installation location
- Backup capability and which circuits it supports
Compatibility and control
- Inverter or hybrid-inverter model
- Compatibility with existing solar
- Tariff automation and app access
- Who retains control of operating modes
- Internet dependency and offline behaviour
Warranty questions
- Years and warranted energy throughput
- Minimum retained capacity
- Cycle and operating-condition exclusions
- Labour, transport and replacement costs
- What happens if the installer stops trading
Value assumptions
Ask the installer to show how household use, solar generation, time-of-use prices, export payments and battery losses support the claimed saving.
